Good post AUseeker. This is a good place to remind people that NC said in the 13-5-2010 conference call that 22,000tpa is a conservative estimate. And that the operations team will continue to improve plant capacity through debottlenecking and other operations. He further stated it would be fair to say the operations team would be disappointed if (current) plant capacity is all they achieved.

NC has not gone back to this point since. But as a classic under promise over deliver CEO, this could be a real surprise to the money guys. Most little time analysts I have spoken to (big timers ignore me) do not believe either Lynas or Moly will reach capacity. This is one of the areas where they are conservative with their valuations. We will have to wait and see. But I would not be surprised if our LAMP phase II capacity is 2-4 years sooner and is a match with Moly's Phoenix Phase II at around 30,000tpa. That's my read on NC and Smith.
