My apologies if volcanoes don't put out the carbon that I thought - will do some research on that one...:) So what about bush fires? I can't see them being low on carbon emissions.
However that aside and according to wikipedia, Australia only emits about 1.28% of world carbon. It seems rather foolish for our little neck of the woods to try and change the world as any taxes we pay are unlikely to make much difference.
Even if we halve our emissions (unlikely), it will only make the miniscule amount of around half a percent difference to the world.
China and the US together emit over 40% carbon. Until they are willing to do the same, I can't think why anyone would be so stupid to think that this tax will be of any help as it simply doesn't add up.
The only positive I can see is that it may help end this seemingly out of control labor government.
