Julia gillard answered in a round about way, that, people would then use their extra money to purchase products from the cheaper, low energy, less polluting co.s (products) ??????

I thought the money was to compensate for the increased costs.

Is she saying that people will have extra money? Is she therefore saying that people will be better off - have more money to spend on the less polluting products?

Plus these are only relatively cheaper because the other goods have been taxed into non-competitiveness.

    It's called voodoo economics.
