When did I mention 'meltdown' in my post? I think what you meant to say was a 'Chernobyl' is not capable of happening.

For your info, meltdown is an informal term used in the industry to describe reactor core damage as a result of overheating. It includes partial or complete meltdown and doesn't always result in an explosion like you or most people think.

A 'meltdown' is definitely possible and most experts already believe a partial meltdown has occured and if a complete meltdown occurs, a disaster/ explosion can still be avoided if the containment unit (4 to 8 inches of steel) manages to prevent the core from melting through it.

I think the fact that you thought that a 'meltdown' equates to an explosion means that it is YOU who have been watching too many hollywood movies like the China Syndrome.
