like it or not no doubt the media reporting of the Japanese disaster has had a massive influence in the short term sentiment of global markets.
its a brave new world for traders where previously a lot of information never made it out to the world wide audience and now only takes seconds to spread throughout the globe.
it concerns me reading some posts here yesterday where some people were willing to so easily dismiss the latest news coming out of Japan as simply an over reaction, I agree that plenty of news agencies are sensationalising the newsflow but as traders we must ignore personal opinions and make informed decisions on how the newsflow will affect the global market and hence our investment decisions.
Nikkei futures are now down 10.5% from yesterdays close, this is not speculation this is fact.
Japanese Nuclear Authorities will be providing a media conference at 11am AEST which will no doubt be market moving information.
hope everyone stays safe today, i'm going to enjoy a nice day with the family being in 100% cash and not worrying about trading until things settle down a bit, yes I will miss opportunities but not willing to risk significant profits built up over last 6 months.
