Thanks SW for posting the info earlier. Following my phone call to the registered aboriginal party this morning, I rang Geelong Council this afternoon. Hugh, who is dealing with the original brine ponds application (on the land leased from Alcoa for $1 a year) was busy with his supervisor (could well have been regarding our approval) but I spoke to someone there who told me they had today received the CHMP approval by email from the aboriginal party and in view of it being a longstanding application the official council approval would be given within a day or two. So Monday would be my guess but I certainly wouldn't rule out tomorrow. And I also note that MHM got the announcement out about the first ponds approval on the less-favoured site within a very short amount of time of being informed by the council, so I'd be guessing they'll do the same for this more important approval on the preferred site. Construction of the brine ponds looks set to commence immediately on granting of the council approval in view of previous posts indicating a bulldozer, etc on site.

Closed-loop salt slag processing now a formality (although it was already in reality) - good times ahead if you're long IMO!
