LA: You're right. It was the negative anti canal campaign by the govt that was a major contributor to the Labor Govts return. The own goal as you say, may have mainly been the late funding miscalculation by the Lib "mathematicians"???!!
What can you say?????? The dissapointing lack of vision of the populace is mind blowing. Water is precious in WA and Barnett's vision will inevitably be utilised by a future govt. be it Lib or Lab.
The incumbent Govt should have won under normal circumstances by a huge majority with full employment and a State that is leading the country in GDP due to the resource boom(absolutely nothing to do with the govt).
It appears to have actually lost seats which is an indictment on their last pre election lies, their performance in health, education, police,power, water, rates increases,wealth taxes, and and miriad of other inept decisions.
As I said before, the WA population must be the most forgiving (and perhaps misguided)in the world !!!!!!!!!
Another 4 years of blunders, blustering and boofheaded government is not something to look forward to.
