The regional areas were the last to experience the price rise and will be the first to fall. Investors there will be the hardest because they bought at the peak which may not be reached again for more than a decade. Geraldton (WA) is a case in point. 5 years ago nobody would have touched Gero real estate and in the last couple of months investors are scrambling over eachother and paying up to 25% more to grab some land. When prices drop back in Perth these people will unfortunately be left high and dry.
