Police work can be unpleasant and it can be enjoyable. It's nowhere near as unpleasant as working in a casualty ward though even that can be enjoyable. Don't make a special class for police because they are most of the time riding to someplace or writing up reports.
They may have to face danger to protect the public but I can tell you that's not often, probably never for most officers. They hate "domestics" which is basically anything they don't want to get involved with and they are often stupid and incompetent. Detectives are a law unto themselves and more are involved in graft than you would believe. Police in Australia have total blindness to lawbreaking by other police.
Most honest police would agree with that, privately.
