Brecciated granite is granite which has been extensively broken into small pieces. A breccia is just a name for a rock which has been broken up into smaller pieces and then re-cemented back together.

It could have been broken up through a number of processes. Could be part of a fault zone, or could have been fractured from massive amounts of hydrothermal fluids moving through. I haven't read enough about it to make a call though, I am waiting for work to send me through some published research on C and I can then make some more comments.

So a brecciated granite is going to be hard. It has most probably been re-cemented back together and is just a textural description of the rocks. Which would definitely require blasting either way. But that is no different to PH or OD, the hematite hosted IOCG's there are in very hard rock.

    Cheers
