    It will be interesting to see when the dust settles how much of the Fukishima nuclear facility is damaged permantly and how much of it can actually be repaired .
    From that we will be able to deduce how much more alternative energy supply materials ( coal,oil and lng ) that will need to be imported. Even the parts of the facility that can be repaired may take several years before they're ready for operations.

    I believe that Japan imports 70 mtpa at the moment so the shortfall may be a couple of trains worth. The ( unfortunate ) timing couldn't be better for the Aussie lng industry for those companies that were looking for that little bit extra in order to justify the extra ( and way more profitable ) train . Probably shift the negotiating power in the market toward the sellers somewhat.

    I'm not going to speculate on the demise of the nuclear industry because imo people have short memories when it involves the hip pocket . Any extra sales derived from there would be just be cream.
