re: global warming To my way of thinking it not so much the media at fault. no two "scientists" can agree anyway. And the ones pushing the global warming theory have much more to worry about i.e. grants. You can make as many models as you like but the adage "garbage in garbage out" still has credence especially if you have a few dollars riding on the outcome. And like psychiatists the end result is the product of their own neuroses.
How do you know that before plants the co2 levels were high???? Pure conjecture. One volcanic eruption (Thera, Pompei, Kracatoa etc) will cauise more co2 to be spewed into the atmosphere than mere mortals can produce.
And again I will mention that a water mark in Tasmania inscribed by the first settlers indicates that the water level was much higher then than now.
Other things being equal??? No
However should the ice melt at Antarctica then the ocean will only revert to the level of 150 years ago.
And if it did melt then another polar region would form thereby establishing or maintaining the status quo.
