Building, operate and maintain the neutron accelerator to bread Uranium 233 isotope from Thorium is still a big challenge on it all right, and needs more research works.
Germany will spend more money in this field, and no doubt Japan after this crisis will do the same, searching for an alternative cleaner nuke energy. Some of the articles from your links indicated China and India may be ahead in this game. Cheers
