    you want to see racism in action, take a look at the differences between qualifying for Youth Allowance and qualifying for ABSTUDY

    both are government payments to support young people undertaking tertiary study

    the eligibility criteria for one allows you to claim the allowance if:

    "you have supported yourself through full-time paid employment for at least 18 months within a period of two years. Full-time employment means that you have worked an average of 30 hours per week throughout the 18 months.

    the eligibility criteria for the other allows you to claim the allowance if:

    "you identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and you are accepted as such in the community you live or have lived in"

    ill leave it to you to figure out which one is which

    you are eligible for both if you are Aboriginal (the one that requires you to work for 18 months, and the one that does not)

    you are eligible for one if you are not Aboriginal (the one that requires you to work for 18 months)

    seems fair and equitable..
