Hi Lighthouse,
Thanks for the EOD data for the USDx, and here is the chart of the USDollar index that you requested. Are you using the USDx as a proxy or an indicator to the price movement of the XJO?
With the premise that you are looking at some correlation to the cycles to help gauge the direction of the XJO using the USDx, I have produced the chart of the UDSDx with the cycles - both ACTUAL and forecasted -so that we can study which cycle periods are applicable ( short or long term ), and for the shorter term cycle, which part of the cycle were in phase or out of phase...the in phase periods being those periods where the forecast cycles were in line with the actual cycles, and good for prediction.
I also show the divergences between the price index and a smoothened rsi oscillator as historically these divergences highlighted the impending turning points indicative of peaks and bottoms.
As you can see that the longer term cycle has been in phase for the entire chart period shown, in comparison to the shorter term cycles which have intermittent out-of-phase periods. Note however, currently we are in phase for the short term cycle!
Perhaps you can explain how you are using this USDx chart?
Trade well, trade safe...and hope this USDx chart has been useful to you.
Cheers,
dascore
