My daughter has a disability which, to all practical purposes, excludes her from the workforce. She will need Centerlink benefits all her life.

But in a friendly, unstressed environment she can contribute and she does that in spades. She must be one of the busiest volunteers in town. She lives with us and is "fully found" so she has the time and is generous with it.

Everyone on benefits is unique so generalizations are dangerous.
