Abbott doesn't have to "GO" just because he's picked a difficult issue to police.
If that was the criteria - Gillard would be living in a villa on the Cote D'Azur as I write - long gone! 'Cos she can't handle ANY of the difficult ones. They always dissolve in chaos, or farce. Or death. (The Pink Batts victims - twelve months since those four youngsters died!)
Those of us who've driven down some sizzling miraged boiling hot road out in South East Asia - in our comfy air-conditioned limo, and looked out at the old women in the cone hats laying the asphalt on some road-works, knowing we ourselves could just NOT do it, or endure it, are looking at the truly unfortunate.
Or the wizened old men, and women, bringing in the rice crops in Bali - we watch them gasping from the heat, whilst gulping down an iced drink from our hotel terrace.
WHAT is disabled. What is unable. WHAT is unfortunate???
And who will decide??? Therein is the problem!
You cannot split families and make people go far away to get work. Not older family people anyway.
