And again a bit of an uninformed dreary naval gazing exercise without bothering to find the facts and I can't see it is that relevance to Galaxy's plan. Their business plan is a value added model, targeting high purity lithium carbonate end product and possibly lithium batteries and Talison's is not. The fact is, the resource base is 1.06% and minable. Can't change that, but the end product they expect is battery EV Grade 99.9% lithium carbonate,and the 'EV Plus Grade' greater than 99.9% lithium carbonate, that Galaxy believe they can also achieve. They have stated that, "'EV Grade' and 'EV Plus Grade' attracts a premium price in the region of US$3,000/t and US$10,000/t respectively over the standard 'Battery Grade'.". So revenue could be around $4000 up (if 99.5% purity fetches around $5500).
Interesting also in having an edge over competitors Galaxy's has was noted:
"... the Galaxy 'EV Grade' lithium carbonate electrochemical characteristics, in most tests, outperformed all other competitors' battery grade lithium carbonate. In addition, based on the Wollongong University comparative test work, hard rock based lithium carbonate seems to perform better in battery cycle performance compared with brine based lithium carbonate."
If they are right they could have a very competive value added procuct.Galaxy also show the $ progession of value adding:
$1 spudemene turns into,
$3 lithium carbonate production, turns into,
$44 Lithium Cathode production, turns into,
$500 Lithium battery production.
Smart money might say they have a good business model and keep going.
