I tend to think that the inflatable packers were ineffective as they were set against pre-acid soaked formation. Flow may have been along the wellbore ti the ECP then through the enhanced permeability matrix around the ECP back into the wellbore of an open zone.

Evidence for this is that the sidetrack (first completion) was quite tight after the first acid soak (2000 bopd was it) and the PLT log showed the vast bulk of flow from the heel after water commenced.

If they had re-run the PLT with the three zones open (2nd completion) they would have seen little production from the toe of the well and most coming in at the heel again I suspect.

Anyway, they wont be going back I'd say...
