Clinical trials are generally carried out by experienced contrators who know what they are doing. Sure it's a different market but human physiology is the practically the same worldwide, it's just that the Japanese for their own reasons prefer their trials on Japanese subjects.
No one runs a Phase III without being almost 100% certain it will be passed. That's why we have phase I & II.
