I've lived in a predominantly Muslim country and the way the media portrays them is far removed from reality. Many of you foster what I would call an 'island mentality', never having been truly exposed to foreign cultures despite living amongst them in a supposedly multi-cultural society.

Hi rhinosaur,
that's fine that you have lived in a predominantly Muslim country. Why are you still not there?
I will not criticise you for that decision.
Australia is not a predominantly Muslim country and I and others don't want to be criticise for wanting to keep it that.
I/we don't mind people coming from multi cultures. But I/we don't want a multi cultured Australia.
I dare say the predominantly Muslim country that you lived in would not like Non Muslims coming in to their country demanding so called asylum, for hand outs, demanding their religion takes precedent over yours. Fair call.
I don't mind Muslims being Muslims, but do it in their own country.
Every culture wants to preserve their culture, we are no different.
cheers,
sypaladin
