    Clutching on an imaginery straw.

When has rate cut in the US and Japan helped to either prevent or revive their housing market.

How about try ZERO interest rates (and kept there for 3 years) in the case of the US and (kept there for more than a decade) in the case of Japan.

Don't you know this is the famous pushing-on-a-string conundrum. A meltdown once started (as it has) can't be stopped. It's called a chain reaction.

Not only will it not work. Inflation will exacerbate and the AUD will crash. Get ready for $2.50 a liter for unleaded and all the asian property punters stampede to get out of the crowded "housing" theater on fire. Just don't shout FIRE !
