re: Ann: Metal Storm, DSTO and Airtronic USA,... A 1GL is not a stupid idea if it can then go to a 2GL or a 3GL at a moments notice. It then gives the man on the ground different options depending on the task given. If a soldier is going out on a fighting patrol normally 24 hours, maximum firepower is needed, i.e. 3GL. If that same soldier is in a defensive position he could opt for the 1GL option as there is no need for maximum fire power. Believe it or not a 1GL is not a stupid option. Unfortunately I believe people on this thread make opinions that are uneducated as they have no GRUNT experience. But that is just my opinion ;)
