you are correct that Nominees could hold either institutions or private holdings. However in my experience it is usually the big boys in town that use nominees.

I suspect that if large institutions see a drop in capitalisation of a coy then they may reduce their holding.This could be the reason for the reduction in NKP holdings since relisting.

Computershare do have a feature on their reports which includes showing addresses of holders. I may investigate upon my return.
