What seems to be totally missing from the whole CSG/UCG/Cougar Kingaroy debate is that:

a) CSG out of Gladstone has a total export focus ... I cant recall any consortium committing on record to supplying the domestic powergen market

b) UCG out of Qld has a total domestic focus, the longest and most sustained focus being from Cougar who have never waivered from powergen as their means to commercialise UCG ... even to the point of undertaking planning for staged powergen development at Kingaroy to 400MW. LNC and CNX are late comers to the powergen model, having spent 2-3 years prior waiving the liquids (diesel) and fertiliser banners for all to see.

Imo, the Qld Govt have shown not one ounce of energy security foresight over their aggressive/passive actions towards UCG in general and their misplaced aggression towards Cougar over Kingaroy.
