Hi boltsy,
From my understanding Standard & Poor's conducts a rebalance of all ASX Indices every quarter which includes the ASX20, ASX50, ASX100, ASX200 & ASX300.
Their rebalance takes into consideration not only the market cap but equally importantly the liquidity of the stock over the prior 6 month period.
