I can't see it ever happening. The bias is so strong already all that will happen is if someone thumbs down your post and you know it then you will thumb down all of their posts and it will be just tit for tat. We can say as much as we like that it wouldn't happen or that 'we' wouldn't do that but it will dominate the thumbing which again defeats its purpose. If any believes they have used the thumbs as a guide to quality of posts on politics then they are either having a lend or have been sadly misguided.
I personally would like it trialed as is for a few eeks then get opinions.
I actually think the site is better without thumbs but that is a personal opinion only and respect that some posters enjoy the facility.
