I hadn't heard the news - so, "You heard it first on Hot Copper" rules again.
Lots of us probably grew up with Dave Allen.
The last time I saw him perform live was at a nightclub in Leicester or Birmingham - can't remember which now. Probably 1975 or 1976 and he was so plastered he was not that funny, and it was a little sad that his glory days were over and the grog had a good hold of him.

Believe me, he will think he did pretty well to get to 68 with all his bad habits!!
He'll be comparing notes with some more of 'the greats' by now - Eric Morecombe, Benny Hill and the likes.

May he be at peace with HIS God.
