I would never hold a share for 12 years unless it was steadily going up all the way. There are so many companies actually going places, not eternally promising.
Why was everyone hanging out for an announcement if they really were thinking in such a long timeframe? Just put it in the draw, and when you turn 90, celebrate your first dividend!
Anyway, I've learnt my lesson. The hard way.
