Everybody thinks it's weird we have a double brick house in Brisbane - but then we don't have/need aircon either.
Yes, you probably are soft! :-) But times have changed. My uncle used to drive regularly between Brisbane and Cairns - 49 creek crossings .... no air con, even in the hotels. But he fought in Burma, so I suppose Cairns felt dry and cool to him.
I reckon you'd soon toughen up though if you had to.
