    Just a bit of speculation myself, but perhaps the American public are so arrogant that they think S&P means that the 80's/90's band Salt n Pepper are making a comeback so are liquidating equity positions to cash positions so they can afford the extremely overpriced comeback tickets when they go on sale @ ebay...?

    Just a theory ;)
