I think what the caution does add up to though is that once a substantive announcement comes out it's likely to spike quite dramatically. Everyone waiting on the sidelines to see if it's a live one will suddenly need to decide whether to get in or not.

Keep in mind that such a spike probably also means a quite rapid retrace after the top is reached though... so be careful buying on the way up ... once it's already moving it might be better to wait for it to stabilise down again once the frenzy is over.

(In short, my recommendation is to either buy now, before it moves, or to wait until after the next move... buying during the move could set you up for a long wait before you're even again... DYOR though).
