there are 2 ways that the question can be read.

    1. A straight question indicating that the poser of the question is asking for information.

    2. The question is a barely disguised de-ramp pointing to the fact that the weakening of the US$ against the A$ and the C$ will result in lower 'bottom line' figures when translated into those currencies.

You responded to question version 1.

I responded to question version 2.

As discussed previously, the US$ income is being re-cycled in the US to pay for US$ drilling costs and US$ land costs and so, in this period of investment, it matters not a monkey's uncle.

Furthermore, the strength of the Oil Price is at least partly attributable to the weakness of the US$. That is GOOD for AUT because the $income from production can fund more of the investment making AUT less reliant on capital.

You can't have it both ways: a strong US$ and POO at this level could stifle global economic growth at this time of fragility. The US$ has, obligingly, weakened to assist.

As to ASX investors' perception: any company producing commodities priced in US$ is going to be hit
