If brokerage commissions weren't still in the dark ages here in south Africa a company like GDO might be more likely to be climbing a little every day on the JSE. I dont think it is possible to find a broker that charges less than 0.5% commission and there is also a government fee of 0.25% on share purchases. . Day traders and short termers will certainly be discouraged by these fees
