Yes, sometimes right but sometimes can go horribly wrong too.
A stock I recently bought fell from 70c to 25c in just under two weeks and guess what the director paid only a few months prior? he paid 100c for 100,000 shares
So don't always assume when a director buys it means the stock is undervalued.
It only means that the director has a level of confidence above the average without the assumption that things can go wrong too.
