hicks seems to have been a bit of a megastar among a collection of clowns, serial failures and misfits.
While by any normal standard hicks is obviously a failure and a goose, he still stands head and shoulders above the rest of the collection of islamic idiots he chose to align himself with.
As such I would guess that the US assessment of hicks' leadership qualities was more in comparison to the rest of the homicidal and suicidal islamic clowns and idiots they found that they were dealing with.
Even though this collection of islamic idiots and fool were/are indeed a joke, their homicidal and suicidal fixations and relentless efforts to kill anyone and everyone who did not immediately accept their crazed dogma and their right to rule over them with no little or no regard for their own lives and the lives of their fellow idiots, made them an extremely dangerous group of islamic clowns and fools that had to be treated with extreme care.

In the final analysis, we tend to value the lives of our cadets too much to allow them to be put in danger from homicidal/suicidal maniacs like hicks and his fellow islamic crazies
