The commodity sector is not a huge employer ao whilst it would be bad there would be offsets in the education, tourism and manufacturing sectors which are big employers and struggling with the high AUD. The main beneficiaries of the boom are Government revenues and BHP etc share price. Shareholders would just have to suck up the pain (inc me) and the government will have to cut all that middle class welfare
