I don't buy the argument that secret negotiations are being held. The girl's being strung out because Howard is trying to influence the Bashir sentence and it would weaken his position to have this Corby thing as a contra deal.
The same reason why the dope pledges 1 billion without any recourse to the Australian people - he's obsessed with terrorism and support for terrorism. But sending money to tsunami victims via the corrupt officials won't do that.
