You're right K...Aussie $ is artificially high supported by our mineral exports and one of the highest interest rates in the western world. The boffins in Canbra would have us believe all is healthy with the economy and of Joolya basks in this b/s. Just a matter of time that the little Aussie bleeder declines especially if the RBA increases rates and the housing bubble bursts (it's happening). Don't want to be an alarmist but I'm close to a large employment agency and know the real state of the economy.
