Hi rayray. There's definitely a feel of gloom on asx at the moment, I share your feeling.

Remember yesterday Barnsty talking about inflation/interest rate rise? I was reminded of this when I read an article in today's Fin Review "The signs point to the likelihood of stagflation." (Page 53) Worth a read.

Recession - negative growth for two quarters? Not sure about that.

As for the 'Sell in May..' My current strategy is to strictly day trade and exit trades preferably by day's end but at maximum hold of 3 days. Strictly. In other words, preserve the bulk of my capital.

The sell in May idea would surely be more applicable to medium/long term holds. On the other hand, good luck to those taking a break! And don't think they're going to be missing that much. But who knows. There's always opportunities imho.
