how long is a cheque good for ?, page-10

Suppose it depends on who issued the cheque. My question is, how long for a personal cheque? I understand Bank cheques have no expiry, Corporate is at least 12 months - I had one mob write to me advising the cheque will be cancelled and a fresh one issued. But what if I wrote you a cheque? Would you have a civil case if 10 months down track I had no funds, is there an onus to chase you up? Just curious.
