We can only speculate about any early screening, recovery and sale of NCu prior to the main processing plant being finished.

We do know the initial mining in Las Minerale will be from surface in the rich bonanza zones (aka Jewellery box), very low strip ratio of 2.31.

We also know the original miners used a very simple piece of machinery (barrel from cement truck) to separate the rich native copper. "The old timers who worked the Double Oxide pit extracted 390 tonnes of native copper metal from 890 tonnes of ore ? 44% Cu!"

If I was to guess I'd say its very possible Cudeco could be recovering and selling some Ncu long before the last piece of the main plant is bolted down on site.

I'd suggest Wayne would be very keen to make a statement and silence all the companys critics once and for all.

As many have already suggested, in the days and weeks following the ML being granted watch out for some serious digging into the Las Minerale Jewellery Box.

I have no doubt many people holding onto expectations based on the JORC grade of 1.24% CuEq, will be faced with a very different real world scenario when mining kicks off.
