It's funny how players and your opinions of them (therefore) can change in relatively short time. I remember saying that I never thought Harry O would make it at this level. He always seemed to get caught by trying to do so too much and his kicking (whilst long) wasn't all that accurate and often created turn-overs. Buckley is similar to that young Harry at this point in my opinion....yet with hard work and confidence Harry is now elite backman.
Anyhow, I will begrudgingly give Carlton some due praise for their performances to date. I am still not convinced they are a Top 4 team (I think Hawthorn and Essendon have more upside this year) but they will challenge for that 4th spot (behind Coll, Freo and Geel).
Judd will win another Brownlow this year barring serious injury. Lock that in. The one positive in Carlton winning (as a Pies supporter) is that it means Malthouse is less likely to end up there next year....I couldn't cop that. But then, plenty of Carlton people tell me Ratten won't be there regardless of how they go this year, and that Roos is already a done deal. Would not surprise.
