i respond to the lies with facts! The rampers on this thread have been scandalously saying that HTW has not done animal trials. I have said it was a lie intended to damage HTW.
If I was in VCR I would sell. I am short VCR and using the substantial profits to buy HTW. I am on the bid right now.
Here is the truth from published research about HTW and the animal trialling of the product:

"HeartWare is focussed on the rapid advancement of its
lead product, the HeartWare Ventricular Assist Device
(HVAD), to clinical trials and regulatory approval.
To date, HeartWare has undertaken a series of preclinical
trials using the HVAD in vitro and in animals.
This includes testing of the HVAD in sheep to evaluate
pump design and mechanics as well as to assess the
long term compatibility with the blood. Sheep are
considered reasonable models for testing LVADs owing
to their anatomical similarities to humans in the
cardiovascular area. Researchers have confidence
that the sheep model provides data with good
predictive values for preclinical evaluation of these
lifesaving devices.
HeartWare has commenced its Good Laboratory
Practice requirements and should complete these in
2005 prior to implanting their first human patient in
early 2006."
