Similar experience to me though I did hold a small number on the hope / spec that it may actually become a reality. Any email contact is generally in line with what is reproduced in the quarterly reports though they put a positive spin on everything. These guys would make great spin doctors for the government IMHO.
It reminds me of the John Cleese skit with the parrot dead in the bottom of the cage but he was trying to convince people it was not dead it was just sleeping.
