    As David said, you have to be very careful when you "fall in love" with any particular stock. It's quite easy to be blindsided by the love affair. This can lead to averaging down, which in a prolonged downtrend can make you lose a lot of money.

    Averaging down is at best a nasty habit. You should average up, never down.
