Hey kevdog, lets get one thing straight, I'm all for individuals and groups looking after their community when they believe the practices of others are illegal or detrimental to the community. It only helps the nuclear industry move forward when shonky operators are exposed and shut down. I understand the need for a local community group to have concerns and make sure that any nuclear projects abide by the guidelines set out, but lets be honest, you people live in the area and just don't want the nuclear industry to start up regardless if they are playing by the rules or not. You can sugarcoat it all you like, but if you at the time of buying your land were guaranteed that there would be no future resumption of mining, then I can understand your position. To use the term "relatively safe" sounds like it could happen, I don't think it will, oh no it is happening, let's do what we can to make sure it doesn't. That's what "relatively safe" in this context means to me. On the positive side, at least kevdog you know next time you're looking for land to buy, make sure its not in an area that uranium mining has occurred and also if they give you a master plan that makes you feel relatively safe, find land that you are guaranteed no mining will occur on. Nuclear is the future and you and your friends from Tac aren't going to stop progress .
