Save the sorrow for Gillard and Swann. Rudd is a survivor so he will be ok. Unfortunately for Gillard she will be gone eiether before or straight after the next election. Swann...I think is about as useful as Simon Crean but a back bench job may still be accomodating.
Weird really...Libs seemed in total dissaray and we all laughed when Tony was given the job. I mean Brendon (who?) was a nice guy but really the Libs were a shambles. Malcolm fell foul of his personal ideals and out of the left overs we got Tony Abbott. The temporary leader of the Libs...the sickem fido punch drunk inarticualate catholic weirdo.
MY question really is has Tony improved that much or has Labor really fallen by the way side? Looks to me like a bit of both and all that happened a few short years agao was people said bugger off Howard...we don't care what we get as long as you are gone. A fair call in my mind at the time because whilst I still voted for him (libs) because I had zero faith in the alternatives, he had passed his 'best before' date and was doing a Bob Kawke... 'they all love me!'
What we have now been witness to is that we are simply being conned by the machines that are the 'people' behind the scenes. We are being 'Americanized' by more than our TV programs (sic). We are being hoodwinked into voting for a personality that has no ability to deliver any thing they promise.
Tony has won the battle thus far and no one is more amazed than me.
Labor will be doing their research panels and will replace Gillard sooner rather than later or hope to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
I still shake my head at how easily Tony Abbott is taking Labor apart. There is some smart cookies behind the scenes atm in the Lib corner. That however remains to be scene whether that can translate into good governing.
