    My 2 cents worth.

    I suspect the price will exceed 53c and maybe Autosime's logic is fair (aka approx 65c).

    It would seem to me that GDO had / have / are negotiating with the suitor to deliver a price which will (a) underwrite directors support; (b) dissuade a competitive knockout bid (and subsequent unsettling bidding war); and (c) facilitate the company moving forward in terms of say off-take agreements; financial support etc.

    I also think that GDO have told the suitor that negotiations cannot continue forever and that the directors of GDO had / have a responsibility to inform their shareholders. On this basis I would expect NF to have stated clearly to the suitors that they had / have until the eve of the AGM to put up or shut up! (Under this scenario it is entirely possible that even today NF doesn't know what he is going to say the proposed press conference...)

    The suitor clearly wants a friendly arrangement as seemingly they have persisted for some time.

    My position:
    1. The suitor is likely to be Chinese but not necessarily those that are already on the register;
    2. It is possible as we speak that a deal is not done. Entirely possible (but I suspect not probable) that NF will announce of Monday that (a) the coy has been negotiating with Freddy Nurks; (b) the points of disagreement were x , y & z; and (c) we have terminated negotiations until such time as Freddy can deliver (1), (2) and (3) for the benefit of all shareholders
    3. IMO if an offer is made it will be full having regard to the extended negotiation period, the apparent need for friendly arrangement and I suspect the need to avert a bidding war at any cost (after all GDO is soon to be I think somebody mentioned in the top 10 gold miners in the world ... pretty impressive resume!)

    Whatever the outcome, GDO still represents a great opportunity / value equation in any portfolio!

    Terms like 'landmark' are interesting and either the product of a good sales-mans imagination or we can expect something extraordinary

    Should be great and looking forward to the outcome.

    have a great weekend.
