Was reading Merriman today who is in Slovenia and says they have 20% taxation and a great welfare system and read the same about many other countries.
How do they do it?
Probably they don't have a bloated military for a start.
Why didn't Bin Laden bomb Switzerland or New Zealand since they have a weak defence?
The US once was very reluctant to interfere in external affairs and in fact their founders warned against such.
Strange that the US emphasis on their constitution fails to notice this now.
In other ways the US are like the Amish. Their literal take on their constitution seems to preclude them from taking account of the changed world.
